VLSI CAD engineer- Student position
About The Position
For an exciting well-funded start-up, we are looking for an excellent VLSI CAD engineer- Student position (2nd-year graduate student)
As a VLSI CAD Engineer, you will be responsible for developing and maintaining CAD tools and design environments, supporting chip design teams, and optimizing workflows to improve efficiency and performance.
Requirements
Requirements:
- Currently a 2nd-year graduate student in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related field.
- Passion for VLSI design, CAD automation, and scripting.
- Strong programming and scripting skills in Python, Bash, Perl, or other automation languages.
- Basic understanding of digital design, IC design flows, and EDA tools.
- Familiarity with Linux environments and shell scripting.
- Knowledge of Git or other version control systems is an advantage.
- Interest in IT infrastructure, job scheduling, and compute resource optimization.
Responsibilities:
- Develop and maintain scripts and automation flows to improve design processes.
- Assist in debugging and optimizing CAD tools for IC design.
- Work closely with the VLSI design, Verification, Backend and IT teams to enhance design productivity.
- Learn and contribute to infrastructure optimization, job scheduling, and compute resource efficiency.
- Support workflow improvements and version control management.
